A sense of hopelessness can occur when a person can’t see his way out of a bad situation he finds himself in. But from God’s perspective, nothing is hopeless because with Him, all things are possible. No matter where we find ourselves in life, He always has a way forward.
Feeling hopeless is not limited to unbelievers. You can be a genuine Christian and still experience a sense of hopelessness in your life at times. This scenario suggests a lack of faith in God, without which, one is limited to human help. But what about when no human or natural solution exists for the problem at hand? This is a recipe for hopelessness. That’s when we must have faith in someone greater. Accordingly, the psalmist writes, “When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2, KJV).
The devil knows how to make life look and feel more hopeless than it really is. But the truth is that if you have faith in God, life is never hopeless. It can only seem that way.
